Sweet Chai Apple Pie

 

Sweet Chai Apple Pie:


  • A double pie crust (I made a sourdough crust with cinnamon and nutmeg.)
  • 4 apples, cored, peeled, and sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract’s
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar 


Bake at 400° for 25 minutes. Brush with milk and cover (to prevent edges burning). Bake at 375° for another 35 minutes. Let sit for 1-2 hours before cutting.
